Matt Burk is the CEO of Fairway America and Chairman of its affiliate, Verivest. Originally founding Fairway Financial Services in 1992, Mr. Burk has led their growth from a small operation to the robust market leaders they are today. He is a passionate industry coach, advising many middle market real estate entrepreneurs, fund managers, and sponsors on all aspects of 506 Regulation D fund business. Additionally, Mr. Burk authored the seminal book on capital raising for middle market real estate entrepreneurs, Capital Attraction.

Having spent his full professional career in real estate finance, he has expansive exposure to all real estate asset classes, structured finance, distressed debt acquisition, disposition, real estate syndications and pooled investment funds. A former basketball player and lifelong sports fan, Matt received a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from the University of California, Davis.

Adrian Boly

Adrian is President of Fairway America. In this capacity, he leads the day-to-day management of the firm’s investment activities, works with senior leadership to establish and drive strategic priorities, and oversees the expansion of Fairway’s growth model into the future. He is a member of the executive team, a principal of the firm, and chairs the corporate investment committee. Having most recently served as Fairway’s Managing Director of Investments, Adrian oversaw the origination, structuring, and execution of private real estate credit and equity opportunities on behalf of the firm and its investors.

As an 18-year veteran of the private real estate industry, Adrian brings significant leadership experience to the firm having been responsible for over $1.5 billion of real estate investments spanning core to opportunistic risk profiles during his career. Prior to Fairway, Adrian held senior roles with ScanlanKemperBard Companies and Guardian Real Estate Services, and he was a former founder and managing partner of a boutique Pacific Northwest real estate sponsor. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Berkeley. He is a CAIA charterholder and a CFA Level III candidate.

William Thier

Will oversees internal business processes at Fairway. He provides operational and cross-functional leadership to the Marketing, Sales, Investor Relations, and Portfolio Management teams. The Operations team, which Will also manages, is the primary node for enabling Fairway’s business model to scale via economizing and streamlining all internal company workflows between and within departments.

He holds a Master of Business Administration as well as a Graduate Certificate in Commercial Real Estate Development, both from Portland State University. In addition, Will spent over a decade as an officer in the United States Air Force, leading pararescue airmen on multiple overseas combat deployments.

John Wilson

As Fairway America’s Chief Financial Officer, John is responsible for overall treasury functions, financial planning and analysis, and leading the investor relations team. Additionally, John works across all verticals to monitor and make financial recommendations.

John joined Fairway as CFO after spending nearly two decades in leadership at Intel. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Purdue University Krannert School of Management as well as a Bachelor of Arts in English from Brigham Young University.

Jay Zollinger

General Counsel

Jay is Fairway America’s General Counsel and a partner of the firm. He has worked with Fairway’s management team for more than a decade sharing a wide range of legal expertise, from contracting, corporate governance and securities to litigation and employment law.

Before opening his own firm in 2008, which provides dedicated, part-time general counsel services to growth-stage companies in various industries, Jay was General Counsel to one of Oregon’s successful private software companies. Before that, Jay was a litigation partner at Perkins Coie, the largest law firm in the Pacific Northwest. Jay received his JD from the University of California, Berkeley. Additionally, he holds a master’s degree in American political thought from the University of Utah and a bachelor’s degree in political science, philosophy, and film studies from Boston University.

Darris Cassidy

As a Principal of Fairway America, Darris is involved many aspects of the business, including capital sourcing, negotiations, deal structuring, investment strategies, and marketing. He spends most of his time interacting with new and existing high net worth individuals, family offices, and institutional investors.

The combination of his affable personality and 20+ years of real estate investment experience make him a knowledgeable resource for investors of all types, whether a first-time investor or an experienced highly sophisticated investor. Darris is a graduate of Gonzaga University and life-long Pacific Northwest resident.
